Five Days

Bear has told me for years that stop signs with a white border are optional.

Apparently he was wrong.

I've lived in the state five days and I got a ticket today for rolling through a stop sign. I lived in PA for nearly ten years and never got a ticket. I lived in IL for a gagillion years and never got a ticket.

Five days.

(And yes, I'm going to fight it.)

Michigan police are notorious for giving tickets to out of state plates. That's how we make up for the short comings of all the jobs lost - Thanks Jenny! (Jenny is your new governor btw)

Are you in GR?

GR translated is Grand Rapids. . for those of you from PA. Jules from MI

Ummm that totally bites!

Definitely fight it and if that doesn't work, I'll gladly stop by the good ole state of MI and kick some patootie.

Oh, that's harsh. A nice welcoming gift from the state...

When I was super poor I fought everything, even parking tickets, b/c if you show up, they generally take a little bit off the ticket.

My hubby & his best friend (since they were both 2 years old!) told best friend's wife that and she took them literally. She blew right through a stop sign with both of them in the car and they both about had heart attacks :) Served them right - although it was a good thing no one was sitting at the opposite sign or pulling into the intersection.

So sorry :(

So you are telling me that the stop signs with the white lines are mandatory?!? Hmmmm...

Good to know!

Okay. I've been laughing at this since yesterday. Stop signs, as a rule, are generally not suggestions.

Rolling through-able stop signs? Are called yield signs. :)

But good luck with your court case...if nothing else maybe the judge will laugh as hard as I have been. Optional...heee!

I'm a governor? EXCELLENT. An immediate pardon for Amy, then.
